F.A.Q

Q: What's the release date?

A: Currently closed pre-alpha testing is planned for 18th of March, 2019

Q: What are the playable races and classes for the Witcherverse?

A:

Playable races: Humans, elves, dwarves, gnomes and halflings.

Playable classes: Barbarian, Fighter, Rogue, Bard, Sorcerer, Wizard, Druid, Paladin, Ranger

Q: What are the playable races and classes for the Tolkeinverse?

A:

Playable races: Orcs (half-orcs are automatically regarded as orcs), halfling, dwarves, elves, humans

Playable classes: Fighter, Rogue, Barbarian, Ranger, Sorcerer (provided the sorcerer only picks necromancy spells).

A note about classes:

Please note that wizards & sorcerers are especially weak at starting levels and it is extremely difficult to gain new levels, so choosing those classes would make you start as an "apprentice" and involves a lot of hardships.

Q: Can I play a witcher?

A: Yes, but it's really difficult to become one. Witchers are very special characters in the gameworld (as they are in the Witcher universe). Certain player characters may take on a journey to become a witcher, but that would put their character lives at a serious risk.

Q: How can I help build the town/fort?

A: Resource-gathering wood and/or stone, you can choose which project to give the resources to. There will always be several active building projects throughout the town/fort in both factions, such as building a wall, building certain houses, statues, decorations, or even military-siege equipment. You may find out about those projects by looking around the town or speaking to certain PC's or NPC's.

Q:  Permadeath is harsh, what happens if I die due to lag or some glitch?

A: If you think your character's death was unjustified, report the case and we will look into it. Permadeath is the ultimate guiding pillar of this gameworld and it will never change.

Q: If I run into a character of the opposing faction, can I attack them?

A:  Yes, but with 2 requirements.

1) There must be a role-playing scenario first that leads up to the fight, even if it's a really short session.

2) Any character that initiates an attack on other PC's must record it. You may use OBS Streamlabs. If you're not capable of recording a video stream for whatever reason (such as having very limited HD space), please take as many screenshots as you can.

Q: What's the deal with recording/taking screenshots of your gameplay?

A: While it's not compulsory for general gameplay, recording your gameplay is required for killing other PC's as a measure of griefing. In addition, you may record your gameplay and role-playing sessions in general. Sending screenshots or a recording of interesting/good role-play and posting it in the forums may reward you with additional XP and be used in the main youtube channel of the gameworld.

Q: What happened to Middle Earth that everyone is so evil?

Middle-Earth, in the 5th age, is now dying world, infested with goblins, orcs and demons that have taken over, and a great darkness now lingers there. As the dark powers were experimenting with black magic, they had somehow managed to open a portal leading into The Haze. However, that portal is a random phenomenon that can appear and disappear anywhere in Middle-Earth. Everyone across Middle-Earth can accidentally (or not accidentally) enter it.
